Allcove
Collaborating with the Palo Alto Youth Community Service (YCS) and Allcove (a nonprofit supporting mental health), I ran art workshops at the Allcove Center to address mental health issues and racism. I taught participants about artist Frida Kahlo and how many of her art pieces empower women to embrace themselves and not fall into the trap of social conformity. I also discussed issues regarding mental health. Participants crafted artwork from their experiences and emotions to help them alleviate their stress. Some artwork was then displayed at an art exhibition on mental health and anti-racism hosted by YCS for the community to see.
