The View Teen Center
Collaborating with the Palo Alto Youth Community Service (YCS), I held a workshop at The View Teen Center in Mountain View in celebration of Cinco de Mayo to teach elementary school kids more about their Mexican cultural heritage and introduced them to Mexican art activists like Favianna Rodriguez and Ricardo Santos Hernandez as inspiration for them. I also introduced them to basic art techniques. Afterward, they drew artwork representing Cinco de Mayo and what the tradition means to them.
